Growing up in North Little Rock I was always encouraged and inspired by my mother to explore many creative outlets. I can remember at an early age that I always seemed to think outside of the box when it came to creative projects in school. I always seemed to be the student that wanted to change the guidelines of the assignment to be able add my own creative flair. I was the student that never wanted to color between the lines. At the age of twenty, I decided one day to take up painting. With a small canvas, one tube of black paint, one tube of white paint and one brush the passion for painting began. Over the next several years I began the journey that has brought me where I am today. I have always been drawn to the use of bright colors and sharp angles with hard lines when it comes to my style of painting. With much trial and some error I have developed a style with the use of many vibrant colors and a somewhat whimsical subject matter. I always said I did not take my art seriously but over the last few years I realized that I did take my art very seriously; it was the subject mattter that I seemed to keep light and not so serious. |
