Carol Corning

Medium: Fused Glass, Mixed Medium, Painting

Rooted in her upbringing on a 150-acre Arkansas farm, Carol transforms fragments of the past into compelling narratives. Growing up with seven siblings, she meticulously assembles found objects, dress patterns, and textiles into layered compositions that tell stories — capturing the essence of a bygone era where the kitchen table was the heart of the home. Her work transcends simple representation, inviting viewers to rediscover the beauty of shared moments and enduring connections through her skillful use of texture, color, and form.

Her Journey: A participant in the 1997-99 LeadAr program, Carol traveled to Washington D.C. and South America, fueling her passion for learning. As a non-traditional student with grown children, she studied art at U.C.A., graduating with honors in 2003. After a rewarding career teaching art in public schools, she now dedicates herself full-time to creating art in her studio in Clinton, Arkansas — committed to making her best work in this season of her life.
