Jeff McKay

Born and raised in Arkansas, a life-long fascination with rivers and trout fishing led Jeff McKay to pick up a paint brush in 1998 and attempt painting trout.  With no formal art education but a strong desire to paint, he spent three years teaching himself watercolors.  After many frustrating attempts, his style and unique use of colors began to develop and show promise.
In 2014, at the encouragement of a fellow artist, Jeff tried his hand at oil painting.  He took to it naturally and his oil paintings soon became as sought-after as his watercolors.  He expanded his subject material from trout and fly-fishing to western landscapes etched in his mind from childhood trips to the Rocky Mountains.
Today Jeff expresses his passion for the outdoors through bold watercolor and oil paintings of western landscapes, aspen trees, trout and the duck hunting lands of the Arkansas Delta.  Jeff and his wife have six children and make their home in central Arkansas, halfway between the world famous duck hunting grounds of eastern Arkansas and the blue ribbon trout streams of the Ozark Mountains.  When not painting in his studio, he can be found on the river teaching his kids the art of fly-fishing.
