"Creating pieces that evoke your imagination and emotions"

Kim Owen was born in Heber Springs, raised in Searcy, and educated in Conway, at the University of Central Arkansas.  Art has always been her passion.  She has always found two dimensional art as a source for inspiration.  Whilst obtaineing her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, she was introduced to three dimensional art.  "When I chose sculpture as my emphasis, it opened an entire new world for me."  She has worked with many different mediums but finally settled on stone.  "I loved everything about it; the shapes, textures, colors and sensations that it can evoke."

The journey of creating her own work and witnessing how people react differently at various stages is one of her greatest sources of joy.  When people not only see the stone, but are dran to touch it, they are able to experience some of the creative processes.  As she sculpts she constantly touches and changes the art as the beauty of the stone reveals it's curves and fluid motions.  She works until it "feels right" not only to her touch but to her inner self.
